The Real Cycle Remote Shoreline Recovery Project
Real Cycle is developing a boat-based environmental field expedition to remove marine debris from hard-to-reach Caribbean shorelines — and document what it actually takes to move that waste from the beach to an appropriate recycling, recovery or disposal pathway.
Planning is underway for the first expedition, with potential locations in The Bahamas and Belize.
Real Cycle combines education with practical action. Our work examines the full life cycle of waste — from collection and recycling to resource recovery and the technologies needed when conventional recycling is not practical. Through research, public education and field initiatives, we aim to identify realistic ways to keep materials out of landfills and the environment.
